About this site

Radio Stations UK is an independent guide to UK radio. It lists where each station broadcasts, the frequency to tune to in your area, and a live stream where one is publicly available. We are not affiliated with the BBC, Ofcom, RAJAR or any broadcaster.

Where the data comes from

How we estimate reception

Ofcom's files give each transmitter's location and power but not its exact coverage area. Town pages estimate reception from the distance to each transmitter, its power and the height of its mast: "Good" means you are well inside the likely service area, "Fringe" means you may need a better aerial or a higher position. Hills and buildings make a big difference, so treat it as a guide. If a station you expect isn't listed, retuning your radio (or running an auto-scan on DAB) is the quickest check.

How stations are grouped

Regional networks such as Heart, Capital and Greatest Hits Radio run dozens of transmitters under one name. We group transmitters into stations using their RDS codes, DAB service IDs and the broadcasters' own service information, and show each network on one page with its regional stations listed.
